21 November 2015 I was woken up by a Rain Saturday morning filled with showers of blessings, my girls and I slept at Georgiou’s hotel and Spa in Kragga kamma Port Elizabeth, I got a message from Keanen to say he cannot wait for us to say “’I DO”, my girls and I got up and started singing and just having fun, my one bridesmaid ( Odette) said before we carry on and the day gets busy we need to hold hands and pray for the day and for us that all goes well and indeed we could feel the presents of God.

I then left for my hair appointment at Best Hair (Candice Naidoo) and was greeted with lots of smiles and laughter and a cup of coffee at the salon- they kept me calm, I was very happy with my hair and off I went to Greenacres to get my bridesmaids few extra gifts and to help me feel calm I needed some shopping ( hehehe, a girl best thing to do ),

I went back to Georgiou’s to do my make-up by Tarryn Harding and the photography (Sphere Photographic) and Videography ( Salvelio Meyer ) arrived and I knew “’THIS IS IT” I got excited and started panicking a bit but with a great team surrounding me I felt calm again, I was treated to breakfast, fruit and champagne, I felt so amazing like I was in a movie, after my make-up was done my dress designer ( Johan Wolmarans) then arrived to get myself and the girls dresses, he started with my bridesmaids, then the flower girls and ended off with me, at that point I felt like I am the “’star of a movie “ and everyone was looking at me, it was the first time my bridesmaids saw my dress ? ( I kept it a secret all the time, I was the only one that know how it looked) we then did some fun photos with the photography and then my family arrived, my mom, brother and sister-in-law and then the tears started as they saw how beautiful I looked, we then let my dad come in last and alone and the tears started more and more as he saw me.

My family left for the church and then myself, my bridal party and my dad left to my house with a surprise Hummer Limo (arranged by the groom) as we would like to capture some moments of me in my house and walk through the arch with palm trees then was made by the groom for me. We then waiting for the time to past and the signal for me to come to the church. We then left my house and off to the church we went. I could not wait to walk down the aisle with my dad as I am his only daughter and the apple of his eye. I could not wait to see my Husband to be and see his face when he sees me in my dress for the first time and WOW what a reaction I got, it was mind blowing.

We then had the ceremony which was conducted by my Minister Rev M. Mc Cabe, it was truly beautiful as everything we planned was done and it felt so blessed. We then left the church and went to Georgiou’s hotel to take photos with bridal party as the weather was not very pleasant and we could not take photos outside. We then left and went to the venue (Running Waters) and started the wedding reception by entrance song “’JIKA”’ by MICA as we would love our guest to get the party feeling and oh boy they did. We then had the speeches and in-between the speeches we had a special song for each person before their spoke. I then changed into my second dress and when I returned the Groom and his groomsmen did a surprised dance for me. We then had our first dance “’ Spend my life with you by Eric Benet FT Tamia” we did father and daughter dance song” Because you loved me by Celine Dion” and Mother and son dance “” MAMA by Boys to Men”.We then did the cutting of the cake- which I had a surprise cake at the back of the cake for my groom which was a Audi TT car popping out of the cake as he loves cars, we did the thronging of the garter and the bouquet and danced the night away with our friends and family and at 10.30pm we had our last dance and the guest made a guard of honour and lit starlight’s can we left for our honeymoon.

I can indeed say that together with our family and friends we had a perfect day as we always remember that God is the centre of it all.

Advise for future brides- We had planned out wedding over period of 2years and we did everything together from decision-making with regards to décor, flowers and colour to venues, photographers, videography, date, time ect. This is where you will learn to work together and understand each other, compromise, have patients and grow together as couple. remember it is not only your wedding it is a union between two amazing people.
