Maritia Bull

Married on Jan 21, 2015

Ryan and I met through mutual friends at University.

We started dating officially in 2008 and got married on 06 September 2014.

We had planned a day to picnic at the Johannesburg Zoo where we had gone for one of our very first dates. During our picnic he unexpectedly knelt on one knee, pulled out a gorgeous diamond ring and told me that he wanted to spend the rest of his life with me.

Our wedding date was 06 September 2014. It was everything we had ever wanted and we were really blessed to have guests travel from far to join us in celebrating our special day.

I had always wanted to get married in the spring time and September really was the best month we could have chosen. We had searched many venues before we came across “the one”. We both agreed on the venue straight away and thereafter we had to begin all the planning. I researched a lot of bridal and wedding trends in magazines, online and through Pinterest to get a lot of our ideas. I knew from the beginning that Mint was to be our colour and that I wanted orchids and roses as my flowers.

We had help from our suppliers for the décor etc. but we did a lot of things “DIY” as matching mint shades across suppliers posed a difficult challenge.

I would definitely recommend the following suppliers for their amazing work:
Venue – Isiphiwo Boutique Hotel
Photographer – Aden Gower
Flowers and décor – Alet Wessels 082 800 4511
Orchids – Nollie
Draping – Theo (Softlight Décor)
Cake & Cupcakes – Karen Koekemoer (Cakes by Karen) 083 467 8506
Hair & Makeup – Madeleine Louw and Sarah Blatcher (Swoon Makeup) (+27) 082 924 76 56
