Tying the knot on a beautiful summers day in January, we overcame some big obstacles together, and declared our love for one another, in a very blessed, emotional, fairytale wedding ceremony, which was totally worth the wait and stumbling blocks.
Ron is German and I am South African and due to his permit status and Home Affairs regulations, he had to wait a very long time to finally pop the question to me,on 30 December 2013, on the Jetty, in Swakopmund.
Brushing up his Afrikaans, he asked me:"Chantel, my hartsbegeerte sal jy my die eer doen om die res van jou lewe saam my te spandeer, Chantel willst du meine Frau werden?" This was truely the most amazing moment of my life, I cried and replied:"Ja, yes, ja bitte!Endlich!"
Finally receiving his permanent South African residency just in time and with the support and love of our wonderful parents, family and friends, we have managed to tie the knot on 10 January 2015, at Bakenhof Winelands, in Wellington, just short of being together for 10 years.
Even though my husband ended up getting very ill and hospitalised, just days prior to our wedding, he was very brave, checking himself out, just for our big day (he had a fatal liver infection-jaunders).
This was truely the most amazing, blessed, special day of our lives!!!! We love each other more than words can describe, and can't wait to spend, survive and overcome many more happily ever after years together, now as Mr and Mrs Sehnke!
