As a bridal make up artist and owner of Beauty in a Box Makeup I have always had high expectations for my own wedding. After visiting countless brides and beautifying these princesses for their special day I was able to gather a perfect picture of what my day should look like.
I am completely in love with all things whimsical. Hence my wedding had to capture the whimsical, free spirited nature of the relationship I share with Thiashen. Choosing colours and vendors was easier than expected. My love for the colour grey and soft hues of dusty pink were my top choice. I have also been lucky enough to befriend the creme de la creme of wedding vendors who came together to make my day perfect.
Being dedicated to our home church our ceremony was held at The Embassy Church in Mayville where Pastor Vernon Jacob conducted a beautiful union. Our vows were hand picked and echoed our hearts desired. I also threw in a little surprise for my dashing groom, who did in fact tear as I walked down the aisle to A Thousand Years by Christina Perri. My Maid of Honour and dear friend Wayne Rengasamy sang The Marriage Prayer by John Waller just as our vows were said.
Docklands hotel offered the rustic feel that I so desired. For our special day the courtyard was dimly lit by candles and sheltered by nomadic tents. I requested tables be set up. Family and friends manned tables for gifts, a signature sweet table with grey and pink sweets and cakes, fun photo booth, seating plans (together with personalised dancing shoes that were given to each guest), and a date jar in which guests could fill out ideas for dates my hubby and I now go on.
Our reception featured the likes of Muthu Murugan and Sagie Murugan who kept the crowd on their toes. We cut a beautiful cake created by Sasha of Sugar Coated Cakes. Her red velvet blew everyone away and added a sweet end to our magically whimsical evening.
Desmond and Sandy managed to capture every priceless moment of our wedding. Their friendship and support during the planning, as well as their priceless advice made me feel like it was indeed my special day. I can now look back at the stunning, creative photos (McDonalds and street pictures that I adore) and truly appreciate my wedding day.
All in all it was a perfect way to start a blissful marriage.
