Our wedding day was a real life fairytale: every girl’s dream, and the day I got to marry my very own prince charming Simon Mothoa. Our ceremony was held at Laquila Spa and wedding venue in East of Pretoria and the perfect location for a summer destination wedding. As soon as Simon and I stepped foot at this venue we knew it was where we wanted to start the rest of our lives together; it was breathtaking. Our reception was held at Laquila with an amazing and beautiful decor.
The day I went wedding dress shopping is a day I will never forget. I felt like a princess and it was such a fun day spent with my beautiful bridesmaids (my daughter, my cousin and my best friend.)I knew I had found ‘the one’ because when I tried it on I saw myself walking down the aisle and bawled like a baby; it was the perfect dress. The color of the day was easy for me to choose; as a lover of all things pink and a confessed ‘girly girl’, blush pink, white and accents of silver were perfection.
My bridesmaids walked down the isle led by the Live performer Luan De Beer in front with the Saxophone singing" Forever in Love"
I walked down the aisle to Luan De Beer's gorgeous rendition of ‘In Moments Like This". Simon and I said our own vows; they were so heartfelt and emotional that I was holding back tears the entire time. There wasn’t a dry eye in sight and all I could hear were the sobs coming from my bridesmaids and (believe it or not) my groomsmen! I managed to hold it together and saying my own vows to Simon was one of the most romantic moments of my life. I will never forget how I felt in that moment.
I wanted my bouquets to be garden inspired. My bridesmaids carried white spray roses, carnations and glossy green jasmine leaves tied off with ivory grosgrain ribbon.Attached to my bouquet was a gold locket that belonged to my grandma who was unable to attend the wedding; every time I looked at it I was reminded of her and it made me smile. My florist, Tammy,Tash from White Wedding & Events were amazing and what they created was exactly what I had imagined; I will never be able to thank them enough for truly one of my favorite elements of the entire day.
All the little details like the rose pedals on the side of the white carpet(isle) at the Chapel, the arrangements on the signing table, all made for a ceremony that looked like it came straight out of a fairytale. Our guests arrived at the ceremony site Luan played the instrumental version of 'Bruno Mars' and other instrumental songs from our favorite romantic love songs. I wanted to take our guests on a journey of our love through music.
Family and Friends came together to help add personal and meaningful touches of our day.
My mother is one of those people who sings very well and I grew up surrounded by music. I have memories of her dancing around the kitchen with my all my uncles serenading them with all gospel and love songs and one of those songs“Beautiful"so it was so special for Simon and I to have Luan sing this to us during our first dance.
One of the most important decisions surrounding the day was our photographer. When we met Otto we loved his style and knew we wanted to book him to capture our wedding day. He did an amazing job and we will be forever grateful for the memories she captured for us.
The gorgeous wedding cake, was designed and created by Wedding Warehouse Bakery it looked stunning and had been designed to match with my lace dress and my bridesmaid dresses as it was half white with a lace design and half with faded chocolate(try to compliment the blush pink color). Luan De Beer was extremely amazing because he was our Master of Ceremony,The Live Performer and the DJ for our wedding. He is such a good and professional singer, our guests were enjoying his music throughout the day and night until he made the dance floor very small with House/Kwaito and Hip Hop music. I wonder what we could have done without him, he did an outstanding job and we salute and thank him for everything that he has done for our wedding. We allowed our guests to dance with us for our last dance of the night and "Stay with you" by John Legend was the last song of the evening, we both love the song as we cherish and celebrate the 10 years that we have been together. Family and Friends came together to help add personal and meaningful touches of our day.
