Craig and I met at a dress up party where it was destined for Austin Powers and his female character to bond over a few too many mojitos.
After 6 years of crazy experiences from cooking our favourite meals to surprise trips to Cape Town, Craig showcased a new side of himself by proposing in Magaliesburg on a romantic celebration birthday weekend getaway. While indulging in a romantic champagne breakfast along the banks of the river, he got down on one knee just as his accomplice our naughty little yorkie came running towards us unexpectedly carrying the ring in a cute little outfit. After many loud screams, a few sentimental words and some tears it was official we were engaged.
The ceremony turned out to be an emotional one when my shocked groom shed a tear as the father and bride walked (ran) me down the aisle. This tear quickly turned into a river of tears as the emotion caught on to the guests, until that is the bride let out a little nervous giggle. Our personalised vows included our commitment to love who we are today, and trust who will be become as ever changing partners in crime.
Surrounded by our very loving family and friends (all 160) the day proceeded to be filled with blessings of love, laughter and celebration. We went on to celebrate our union in a black, white and silver glitzy style shared with our crazy family and nutty friends. Needless to say it was a celebration we will always treasure filled with laughs, jokes and celebrations rocking the night away. Especially as the celebrations continued until the wee hours of the morning.
While the venue itself provided a perfect setting for a romantic wedding filled with an amazing backdrop, with glittering decor including edible glitter & diamante napkin holders (for the love of all things shiny) it was certainly our guests who made our day. Complete with signs which spoke to our love not only for each but also for our family and friends, our wedding was simply magical.
Once the celebrations began, they certainly did not want to stop, and will not stop as we continue to celebrate our friendship & love for each other daily.
All in all the wedding was a dream, in fact, it was every girl's dream - the perfect wedding. A great way to start our journey as a married couple. :)
