The day I got married to my BEST friend was the happiest day of my life!
What made the day even more special is that we got married on my family farm. There is a wedding venue (Makojalo-Op-Stal) on the farm, but we would've gotten married there if the venue was there or not. My mother, Louise, designed and made my perfect wedding dress! She is a woman with a lot of different talents.
Morne proposed to me on the farm in a very secluded area surrounded by trees. We decided that we want to get married on that spot! For two weeks before our wedding it was pouring rain everyday, but we were convinced that the weather was going to be perfect on our wedding day. The day before the wedding it was still raining.
The next morning I woke up so excited, not even thinking about the weather. During the day I was asked whether they should prepare the chapel just as a back up plan, but I was still convinced it wouldn't rain, even though it was very cloudy!
Because of all the mud from raining the whole time, we organised a surprise for the 180 guests - they were being transported in cattle trucks to the ceremony area, because their cars would get stuck in the mud. It was so funny seeing everyone's expressions as they were being "herded" onto the trucks.
Thanks to my mother and bridesmaids I had an awesome day preparing for the wedding, with snacks and champagne flowing. We couldn't ask for a more perfect day!
