Leisha Viljoen

Leisha Viljoen

Married on Mar 8, 2014 in Eastern Cape

After a year of planning, our wedding day was more even special, blessed and fun than either one of us could of hoped for. The love and support from our family and friends was indescribable. My fiance at the time spent his morning and got dressed with his groomsmen at our venue, Lake de la vie, honeymoon chalets. My morning began with a surprise planned by my mom and fiance. After a special breakfast I was blind folded and we where off...little did I know that my mom, little brother, my beautiful bridesmaids and myself would be spending our morning getting dressed and pampered at the beautiful Georgiou Hotel and Spa. While we were getting ready for the most special day in my life in our pink embroided gowns my bridesmaids and I gave each other our gifts. One of which I hold very near to my heart. It is a small music box that when you turn the handle it plays the wedding march with a small note inside. The build up before our wedding was for us a time of happiness, love, excitement, getting ready and of coarse photos with those closest to us. Then the moment arrived that we had been waiting for for so long...to become husband and wife. My dad, bridesmaids, photographer and myself climbed into the limo and where on our way to our venues stone chapel. My fiances brother and his string quartet played for our guests in the chapel while they waited for us. For my dad and I he played the most beautiful song on piano for us to walk down the aisle together. Just as the piano stated to play and I held my dads arm and looked up at him, my eyes welled up with tears. Just then I realized how much I love him and how much my parents must love my fiance and I to make this fairy-tale come true. It suddenly became very clear and for the first time it became so real that I was about to marry my best friend. It is a moment that i will treasure forever. With a beating heart as if it wanted to jump out and shaking hands I walked down the aisle along side my dad towards my further husband. All that I could see was the happiness in his eyes and even though we had practiced it a million times that he mustn't kiss me when my dad gives me away to him he almost did it again. The pastor made a comment about trying to get him not to do that and everyone laughed with us. After a beautiful and special message from our pastor we finally got to say the words we had been waiting to say....I Do and for my fiance to finally get is kiss! Our guests headed down to our reception area for good music, canepes and drinks while we had our photos taken. It was a slightly cool day but my husband and I where so grateful as we both got rather warm in our suite and wedding gown. While we where having our photos taken it felt as if time stood still. It was just my husband and I in nature where we are happiest. Nothing could have spoiled that moment for us. Our dream day ended with a perfect reception. There where special speeches, speeches that made us cry and more importantly the ones that made us laugh. After first dances, daddy dances, garters being thrown and cakes being cut our fairy-tale night came to an end. We wouldn't have changed anything about our wedding day, except maybe making time stand still to enjoy the day a while longer. We made the best memories that we will treasure forever.
