Our wedding was on the 21st of March. The weather turned out to be beautiful clear skies day after weeks of heavy rainfall. We didn't want lots of colour, so we chose a colour scheme of white and a touch of green from the flower stems. The styling was very romantic. I wore an ivory full-length mermaid dress which had a lace top with a buttoned back, and a gold belt. I found the dress in the second shop I visited, and it was totally different to the kind of dress I thought she'd choose.
My bridesmaids were my two younger sisters and a long time friend of mine from high school. My beautiful niece did a very good job as a flower girl. She wore an A-line ivory dress with a gold detail belt to match my outfit. Since I couldn’t decide on specific colour theme, my bridesmaids wore different colour long chiffon dresses. The colours were soft toned and complemented each other.
The wedding flowers were a surprise on the day, as I had found a white bouquet I liked on the internet and asked my florist to make similar bouquets for myself and my bridesmaids. The groomsmen's buttonholes also featured the same flower.
The wedding cake detail was again a surprise as I had made last minute changes because I came across an inspiration that I liked on the internet the day before! The cake was white 5 tiered, lemon flavoured, with details of multi-coloured fresh flowers between the tiers.
The wedding ceremony was a garden wedding held on a farm under a canopy with white draping and covered with white fresh flowers. The reception was held in a clear span marquee with lots of fairy lights which created a very romantic atmosphere.
For me everything was perfect; the tension, the nerves, the emotion, the laughter and love by everyone would be hard to beat. The whole experience from the ceremony, to hugging my parents and in-laws, and then walking down the aisle with my new husband was amazing.
