Wynand and I fell in-love while we were still in high school and dated for seven years. At the end of 2013 we decided to do a trip through Europe, our last stop was Paris and that was also where he went down on his knee- in front of the Eiffel Tower!
I knew exactly where I wanted to get married, so finding a venue was very easy and the planning started immediately. I loved the rustic charm of the venue and the fact that it was surrounded by the beautiful mountains of our region. I wanted to have a cozy, warm and festive wedding, so we decided that we would have one big table instead of different tables. The flowers had no specific pattern and consisted mainly of different field flowers in different vases. The roof was draped in fairy-lights adding to the festive feeling we were going for. We did everything exactly the way we wanted it and added all of our favourite things into the mix, and even had ice cream from our favourite ice cream shop from when we were studying in Pretoria. I made many of the things myself including the stationary, the aisle runner and the belt I was wearing, which made everything just so much more special.
We were so blessed with the weather, because I had wanted to get married under this big tree on the venue, but was told that the venue haven't had a dry wedding in three weeks and the chances would be slim. We however told them to set up under the tree and we were blessed with not even one single drop of rain. It was the most amazing day of life with everything just falling in place. I am truly blessed with the most wonderful husband in the world, he was so calm and made sure that everything was the way I wanted it. It was the perfect day with friends, family and blessings in abundance- what else could we have asked for!
