Our wedding day was a scorching hot summer day in Porterville! A beautiful December day in the Platteland! Never before in my life had I been this nervous and excited at the same time! Getting ready for the wedding (and symbolically for my final departure from home) in the house where I grew up, filled with so many beautiful memories, was extremely sentimental. Walking down the aisle was the most exhilarating experience, I was overcome by emotion and could hardly breathe! And then, as Niel and I made our vows to each other before God and all our friends and family, and later as we walked out of the church, as newly weds, greeted by the most beautiful sight of 120 red and white balloons being released into the air, with the sun baking down on us, melting everything it touched, I could feel my heart melting as well. Our wedding was filled with so much love and warmth and I will cherish the memories of this special day forever! I am extremely grateful to each and every family member (especially and above all my mom, dad and sister), friend and anyone else who made this day unforgettable, but most of all I am grateful to God for so many blessings and for giving me my amazing husband who is the most beautiful person in my life and whom I will love unconditionally until my last breath.
