Married on Nov 22, 2014

Wow, how is it even possible to capture, in a few solitude words, the overwhelming feelings of love, appreciation, gratefulness, joy, and even a little bit of fear (the good kind) that this day entails. I know that each lady that has had the privilege of getting married to the man of their dreams, knows exactly how difficult, and somewhat unfair, it is to encapsulate the absolute beauty of this journey. So here goes...

We had 10 months to plan our special day, which seemed like forever, but time flies when your having fun! We both wanted desperately to get married in Cape Town, as this is the place where we studied, met and fell in love. But having moved to Gauteng a year ago the task of trying to plan a wedding from a distance was quite demanding. I made a few visits to Cape Town to meet with our service providers and to fit my dress, which I also had made in Cape Town. My designer was someone that I had admired and who's blog I had followed for years, how could I not pick her when my time finally came along?

The week before our wedding day the Cape Doctor was in full force. Grinding my teeth I thought of our outdoor ceremony and beautiful venue views going to waste. I awoke on the day to the serenity of the most perfect summers day. Blue skies, light breeze and a view of the ocean. Cape Town at its best.

We had a perfect day, one that exceeded our greatest expectations. Not just because the whole setting was so dreamy and awe-inspiring, but because our love was made visible in everything that came together on that day. And being able to share this day with our loved ones, created a sense of genuine raw if we were engulfed in this tangible haze of unconditional love that will last a lifetime.
