It poured with rain the night before our Hemel en Aarde Valley wedding, I lay in bed wishing it would come down heavier and rain out before the morning otherwise my ideas of gallavanting in the valley fynbos with our photographer would be dashed!
My wishes came true and on the day, although damp and at one point drizzling, we had what I considered to be the perfect wedding day where I got to marry an incredible man, who I incidently met at a friends wedding almost 3 years earlier.
We wanted a small, intimate wedding with our closest family and friends and that is what we experienced. I felt incredibly relaxed and "chilled" on the day, and although a little nervous, I enjoyed every moment of our wedding day from the preparation, to arriving at the chapel (on time) to walking through the doors of The Classroom Restaurant as Mr and Mrs Hill and dancing the night away.
My husband pulled me aside at one point in the night to steal a moment to ourselves on the night - definitely great advice to anyone getting married to do the same as the night really does go by so fast.
I feel incredibly grateful that we have such wonderful friends and family there to support us on our new journey of love and commitment in our marriage.
