Elka Du Piesanie (Etsebeth)

Elka Du Piesanie

Married on Nov 15, 2014 in Gauteng

Fairy tale Wedding, this pretty much sums up exactly what our special day was like. I am not your typical "girly girl and I wanted to make sure that my "less is more" approach would reflect in my choice of decor and venue.

I grew up on a farm and I guess this stuck with me through the years, my husband Anton decided that it would be best if he let me do all the planning as I never take no for an answer and I guess he trusted my opinion when it comes to planning events.

So we started looking for a venue that wasn't to far but still not in the same area as where we reside. We found a few places that was in our price range but still not exactly what we were looking for, I insisted that I want to have a warm country atmosphere at the wedding. With enough space and a beautiful scenic background. As we walked into Oxbow Country Estate, we immediately fell in love with the beautiful trees and water surrounding the venue.

The decor had to be just right, with touches of sophistication however still light and fun. Polka dots and stripes with a touch of emerald green was the theme of the day.

This was a very emotional day for both myself and Anton as we had both lost our fathers. Anton lost his father at a tender age of 16 due to a fatal car accident. I was never fortunate enough to meet his dad. My dad passed away 11 months before our wedding. Anton was however fortunate enough to have the opportunity to ask my dad for his only daughter's hand in marriage.

We had a breathtaking full rainbow on the day and I believe that it was our fathers attending our special day. We had rain the entire morning but the minute the ceremony started the weather cleared up and allowed for the most beautiful sunset I have ever seen, to peep through the clouds.

My handsome brother walked me down the isle, once in front of the chapel, we embraced my mother who was dressed to impress of course.

At the end of our perfect day we enjoyed great music and danced like there was no tomorrow.

We wanted our guests to have the best wedding experience we could afford and for them to forever hold all the special memories in their thoughts. A wedding is nothing without friends and family.
