Arista Macropoulos (Holden)

Arista Macropoulos

Married on Nov 1, 2014 in Gauteng

Our Wedding was a dream come true on the 1st November 2014...I waited 10 years for my Husband to propose to me. This special occasion happened on the 15th September 2013 and that's where the wedding planning started. We decided to have the reception at Saint George Hotel in Centurion as it’s a Greek Venue and fits in with my Husbands heritage.

The day started early for all of us and flew by so quickly. I was fortunate enough to me surrounded by my sisters, mother and my 2 nieces the whole day. I battled the whole day to keep the tears away as I was so happy but nervous as well. My friend, who was my photographer still tried to calm me down by reminding me, "Everything can go wrong but remember you are marrying the man of your dreams today" That seemed to have done the trick.

It was the most special moment for me walking into the church with my Dad by my side towards my Handsome and Gorgeous Husband to be, who was waiting in tears. We had a traditional Greek Orthodox wedding service and was so Beautiful and special in every way. It was most of the guests first Greek Wedding and was quite surprised with all the detail and meaning behind everything. Finally when the priest said he may kiss me, was like a dream. It was the most amazing kiss he has ever given me.

As soon as we arrived at the reception we started with a few family photos and our couple photos. Before we knew it we were getting introduced as Mr and Mrs Macropoulos and walking into our amazing venue. The speeches were kept nice and short so as to not make it boring. The food was outstanding even though we didn't get around to eating a lot of it. We had a photo booth set up for the guests to entertain themselves throughout the evening.

My husband and I opened up the dance floor to John Legends All of Me and surprised all our guests as we went for dance lessons secretively. It was such a special moment dancing with my Husband and all the hours of practice paid off. Before we knew it the flower toss and garter toss was over and done with as well as the cake cutting.

My Husband started the Greek dancing with a dance called a Zeibekiko and all the guests started breaking plates at his feet. He looked so charming on the dance floor. The children thought it was great fun breaking the plates and playing with it. Before we knew it the nights dancing was over and we were packing up to go to bed.

We stayed over at Saint George Hotel with most of the family. We joined them the next morning for breakfast before leaving for Honeymoon. This was my fairy tale wedding and loved every moment of it. We wanted a very casual wedding with all our friends and family to enjoy! The best thing is that my Husband and I get to start our lives together now as Husband and Wife.

We would like to give a special thanks our parents for being able to help with the wedding as well as our siblings for supporting us throughout the year of planning and on our Special day! We would also like to give a big thanks to all our guests for attending our wedding, spoiling us and the stunning pictures we were able to upload. A big thank you goes to our Photographer and great friend Jana! We cant wait to see the photos.

I have definitely married my Best Friend and Soul Mate, the one I laugh with, live for and love....
