Love, happiness, family and friends is what makes a wedding day so special! Travis and I could not wait for our special day to arrive, to share it with all those dearest to us.
We had a lot of family and friends travelling from across the globe to share in our happiness: My sister, brother-in-law, and my gorgeous niece were coming; I had not seen them in over 8 years! My brother whom I hadn’t seen in 2 years was coming from Dubai. Two of my bridesmaids were also coming from the UK, which made it all the more special; and we had family from Australia also flying in!
From the morning I was so excited! The sun was also shining following on from a full week of rain! Getting ready with my bridesmaids, my mom, and my sister was filled with so much laughter and tears. My dad came to see me whilst getting ready – He was gleaming with joy and looked so proud. He could not stop telling me how beautiful I looked!
No wedding day goes without hiccups. Two of my bridesmaids dresses zips decided not to close at the back so we ended up sewing the dresses on to them. This made me late for the chapel, which made my husband-to-be all the more nervous! Sorry my angel!
Our ceremony was so beautiful. I was so engaged in Travis’ face and smirks that I partially forgot my vows – Trav had a good laugh at me. When saying our personal vows and our “I do’s”, it made the day all the more real – I was finally marrying my best friend, my soul mate and the one person in my life I couldn’t imagine not waking up next to each and every day!! Our hearts were pounding so fast – and when kissing each other – time stood still!
After photos the weather started turning sour; we had a big lightning storm and lots of rain; but this did not detract from the fun and beautiful evening that lay ahead. We loved our first dance! Everyone was smiling too! I cannot wait to see what our videographer puts together for us! I cried on my dad’s shoulder when we danced; I was so overwhelmed by it all!
The evening went so fast but it was such a magical day! If I could do it all over again I would – just to spend it with all our family and friends and to see the look on my dashing husbands face! What a blessed day it was! X
