Christos and I got married in Cape Town on 11 May 2013. It was everything we ever dreamt our wedding day would be, and so much more! Christos had a lot of family coming from overseas who had never met my family, so the evening before the wedding we took both our families and the bridal party on a sunset harbor cruise. The weather was perfect, the ocean like glass, and everyone was getting along amazingly (we even had dolphins swimming behind the catamaran)! I knew then that everything would go off perfectly and I was completely relaxed!
I married my knight in shining armour at the Catholic Cathedral (Our lady of the flight into Eqypt) in a beautiful and very special ceremony. Our photos were done in the Company Gardens and at the reception venue. Our venue was at the One & Only hotel, where every detail was carefully attended to and the food was amazing!
We wanted a classic style wedding with touches of Art Deco in the detailing. The wedding cake was a gorgeous all white Art Deco construction that Wade from 'Cakes by Wade', was able to literally grasp from my imagination and scrappy drawings and bring to life!
Our tables were named after places that were significant in both our lives and on the back of the guests seating cards there was an interesting fact about that place and why it was special to us!
My mom ensured that we also had tons of little personal touches : 'dancing slippers for tired feet', 'pashminas to keep to you warm' (even though the weather was perfect), and of course the linen napkins which had our monogram lovingly stitched on by my super mom! Mom & Dad, you gave us a dream wedding to cherish forever- Thank-you from the bottom of our hearts!
Thank you also to my stunning bridesmaids: Olga, Melissa, Anita and my beautiful baby sister, Claudia!
And of course, a very special thank-you to the most wonderful, supportive, super hero of a wedding planner: Shirley Ogden from Tiaras & Tantrums for all the help, advice, organizing, listening and orchestrating it all to perfection!
We had such an amazingly special day with so many wonderful memories which truly was the best possible way to start the rest of our lives!
