Postponing Your Wedding In Style

HOW TO SHARE THE NEWS OF YOUR POSTPONED WEDDING

When you book your wedding venue and date, the last thought that ever crosses your mind when you sign on the dotted line is that you may have to postpone your big day…and then boom Corona Virus becomes a pandemic. Sure you have to consider that unpredictable things happen and sometimes tough decisions need to be made. In an effort to curb the spread of the Covid-19 virus, President Cyril Ramaphosa ordered South Africa into a 21 day lock down. This meant that the wedding and event industry was hard hit and thousands of brides had to cancel their big days. If you were one of those unfortunate brides, we have teamed up with two stationery houses to help you notify your guests in style that your wedding has been postponed.

If you happen to be one of these unfortunate brides (and we are so sorry about that) the first thing you need to do is to let your guests know that you are postponing as soon as possible. This is vitally important – especially if your guests are travelling from far to attend. Even if you do not have a new date on lock down, pop your guests an email or text message as soon as you can.

Take a moment to breathe and make peace with the difficult decision you have had to make. Brides and grooms to be, we cannot remind you enough. Your big day will happen and it will still be a beautiful celebration. Once you have a date on lock down and all service providers are in agreement let your VIP guests know the new date and then work down the list systematically.
