- x1 Box of Ina Paarman Vanilla Cake Mix
- x3 Jumbo Eggs
- 3/4 Cups (180ml) Sunflower or Canola Oil
- x1 Cup (250ml) Hot Full Cream Milk
EQUIPMENT YOU WILL NEED
- x2 20cm or x2 22cm Cake Pans or x1x27cm Ring Cake Tin
- If you’re making cupcakes, you can dish the batter into a standard muffin pan
- Electric Beater
Adjust oven rack to the middle position and preheat oven to 180’C. Prepare your baking pans by spraying with a non-stick cooking spray. Beat eggs and oil together for about 30 seconds on high speed until well combined. Gently pour in the warm milk and beat briefly on a high speed until well blended. Add the contents of the packet and gently mix in by hand with a spatula. Mix only until combined – take care to not over mix. The mixture will be fairly soft and runny. Gently scrape your vanilla cake mixture into the prepared pans or muffin trays and put it in the oven.
For layered and ring cakes bake for 25-30 minutes, for cupcakes bake at 190’C for 15-18 minutes. To check if the cakes or cupcakes are cooked, insert a thin bladed knife into the centre and if it comes out clean it means it is cooked. Cool cakes in the pan for 10 minutes before turning out on a cooling rack. Do not ice until cakes are completely cool.
