Longer days and warmer nights set the perfect backdrop for summer weddings. As the season switches over, we are absolutely in love with all the possibilities the warmer temperatures bring.
Summer weddings allow for much brighter palettes. Trade in the moodier colour palettes and introduce festive colours to brighten up the tone of your wedding celebration. Introduce a more vibrant palette of pinks, yellow, orange, green and blue with accent tones of metallic and white to add that sophisticated edge. If the thought of too much colour is a little daunting, opt for shades that work well together.
Beautiful blooms are sure to make the perfect stylish statement. Play with bolder florals and looser arrangements to add the ultimate summer al-fresco feel to your wedding. Suspended florals also allow you to add lots of colour in a concentrated area so that you can keep your reception tables cleaner. If your motto is "more is more", try full floral runners to transport your guests into the secret garden. Introduce texture in your floral arrangements and even experiment with singular oversized florals in coloured vases.
Food can be a lot lighter and brighter. Give your guests a culinary surprise by introducing ice cream or wine popsicles to your canapés. Better yet, have a pop-up bar with signature cocktails to make your wedding fun and festive.
Adorn your edible goodies with edible flowers, pretty glasses and herbs to make the process interactive and fun! Add in some laid back music in the background to brighten up the ambience and add to that chilled vibe.
The last thing any bride needs is a wedding dress clinging onto her like a second skin in the heat. Opt for lighter silhouettes, illusion bodices, soft lace and translucent detailing to add ultimate romance to your dress whilst keeping cool and fresh. Play with materials that move like tulle so that you can shine in all your glory without breaking into a sweat trying to get from Point A to B.
With the introduction of a lot more colour, your table décor needs to have a few grounding elements. Introduce metallic cutlery to add the ultimate sophistication to your tables without taking away from the bold look you are after. Add height with candles and play around with textures to add some drama to your florals. Exposed Edison bulbs and coloured napkins will tie your vision together and make for an amazing photograph. We would suggest choosing one statement element such as printed plates or printed vases. Think of beautiful Moroccan or Turkish designs or if you are a more traditional bride, make use of Delft designs to make the perfect stylish statement.
With all of these tips and tricks, we are eager to see what our summer brides have conjured up for their own weddings. For more inspiration, head on over to our gallery.
