About Wedding Confetti

Confetti, or no confetti? It’s a tricky question these days when you are planning your wedding. Some venues don’t allow any wedding confetti at all, while others specify bio-degradable or environmentally friendly confetti that won’t litter the grounds for long after the occasion. Some cultures have a tradition of throwing rice at newly-weds, which is fairly eco-friendly, but a far prettier and gentler natural confetti is to use flower petals. These can be scented rose petals or any other petals chosen to match a colour scheme. They can be fresh or dried according to the time of year and availability.

Guests used to bring their own wedding confetti to throw, but these days it is more usual for the chosen confetti to be distributed among the guests by the flower girls or others of the wedding retinue.
