Magical Moments

It was the most beautiful day to start the Spring season - sunshine weather and a calm atmosphere before the big moment.

There are 3 moments of my wedding day that I will always carry close to heart:

The moment I walked with my father down the aisle and saw my then soon-to-be husband for the first time. His eyes was filled with tears, love and excitement all at the same time.

After the wedding photo's were taken we waited in the foyer of the farm house for a few minutes before being welcomed as Mr. and Mrs. De Wet. We sat and looked out on the garden where the ceremony was held and where the guests were having the pre-drinks. In those few minutes we shared the most amazing feeling of greatfulness towards all our friends and family who came to celebrate our love. That is also the exact same time that we realised we are MARRIED!

Excitement and happiness poured out of our hearts as we walked into the tent, being announced as husband and wife. We then walked over to cut our cake and while cutting the cake knife broke and we burst out in laughter (caught on camera)...this is the most memorable moment that we shared, as it is exactly how we always look for the silver lining in all situations and love laughing together.

There were so many more "memorable moments" that evening and we will always cherish each one.

The Honeymoon

We went on honeymoon to Double Tree by Hilton Resort, Zanzibar.

My Special Day

We went for a vintage wine farm wedding with a spring theme in mind.

My wedding dress was an off white colour with beaded lace around the bust and back. It came down with soft netting and material flowers at the bottom.

My hair was upstyle in a low bun. My eyes were done with an undertone of purple, which is completely out of my comfort zone, but looked perfect all thanks to my make-up artist. She also added lashes to bring my eyes out and a soft pink lipstick.

My jewellery was kept to a minimum due to the detail of my dress. I wore pearl earings and a rose gold bracelet that I got as a wedding gift from my husband.

My garter was handmade from the lace of my dress with additional beading added to it.

I wore nude heals that complimented my dress and other accessories.

The Venue

We got married on Du Preez Estate, Rawsonville (Western Cape).

Wedding Elements

Our venue was our main piece of decor as it is surrounded with vineyards.

The reception tent and fairy lights was supplied by the venue and created the exact atmosphere that we wanted.

Our table decor was simplistic, yet elegant. Our centrepiece was the flower vase and gel candles. Each guest had a rosegold placemat with their name cards tied around the serviette. To add extra feeling we also added an olive leaf to the serviette.

Our flowers were the main decor. We had pastel coloured flowers, which included my favourites - daisies and roses. There was also alot of greenery in the vases as well as other decorating items.

For table placements we used and old window which complemented that farm effect.

Other items include fire pits, cocktail tables and hearts made from vineyard branches.

My Groom And His Groomsmen

The groomsmen got a box filled with their accessories and other goodies. They got their matching bowties, navy socks and wooden brooch in the box.

They wore khaki pants with white shirts, rounded off with brown belts and shoes.

Most accessories and clothes were purchased from Woolworths and Old Khaki.

Beautiful Bridesmaids

The bridesmaids wore blush skirts with white tops. Each bridesmaid could choose what cut they wanted their tops to be so that each one is unique to their personality and liking.

These outfits were designed and made by Anje's Bridal couture, who also made my dress.

Marriage Officer

We were married by a close friend who is also a pastor, Ryno Els.

My Captured Moments

Boland Photography and Videography captured our photos as well as video. They were very accommodating and creative and caught all the moments that were special to us.

Food & Cake

We wanted the food to represent who we are and what we as couple enjoy.

For starter we had a cheese, preserves and crackers table which guests enjoyed with the pre-drinks. ( Prepared by mother of the bride )

Our main was lamb, salads and bread rolls served in a buffet style for guests to enjoy. ( Catered by Taurus Spitbraai )

We hade a varity desert table which guests could choose from and put it in a party pack to take home. ( Prepared by mother of the groom )

My wedding cake was made out of different types of cheeses. It was made and designed by Fairview cheese farm.

Wedding Stationery

My stationery was designed and printed by Jané Ulla. She immediately caught the atmosphere and character I wanted for the wedding and put it on paper.

The Reception and Entertainment

To keep the party going we had the most amazing DJ (Stephan v Zyl), who also sang to keep the guests entertained. It was a great success, the dancefloor was occupied by young and old and everyone complimented the way in which he read the crowd.

He did all the sound and lighting, from the ceremony to the reception.
