Magical Moments

One of the most memorable and special moments of my wedding prior to walking down the aisle and seeing the man of my dreams waiting there for me, was having a bath with my 7 year old niece we spoke nonsense and laughed and then once we'd dried off and put our gowns on, my niece, my sister and I lay on the bed sharing moments of my childhood and reminiscing about our single days.
Another very special moment was when my bridemaids saw me in my dress for the first time and all 3 of them burst out crying-hopefully tears of joy.

The Honeymoon

We went on a 8 day honeymoon to the Maldives and stayed at Adaaran Hufushi select it was pure paradise.

My Special Day

I wanted to go for a elegant classy look, with a dress and hair tgat no one not even my fiance would of expected. My shoes were high heels that had diamates all over and my dess was lace that was beaded by hand. My veil had a lace boarder made from the off cuts of my dress. My garter waa navy blue and was also hand made. I felt like a princess with my hair up and silver flower hair accessory to finish it off. I loved my dress and didn't want to take it off.

The Venue

We had a weekend wedding at Kuthaba Bush Lodge just out side of Nylstroom, most of our guests arrived on the friday night and stayed at the lodge. We had a braai on the Friday night and gave gifts to our parents and the bridal party. It was emotional since some of our family members have passed away, but everyone appreciate the gifts and the time we took to make it special for everyone involved.

My Bridal Beauty Regime

5 months before the wedding i started seeing a dietian to lose some excess weight and the day before the weddinb myself and my bridal party went yo the spa. I had extensions put in my hair to give me some extra length and volume. And then for the wedding night and for our honeymoon I had a Hollywood wax done-was super painful.

Wedding Elements

It was a wedding on a budget so we couldn't afford to have someone do our flowers and decor so for months prior to our special day, I made all the decor myself.
We collected old good cans, tuna cans and baked bean cans and the large dog food cans. In the small cans we made our own candles in the tins and the medium sized cans had roses in, that I put all the roses in myself and the larger cans had desert roses planted in them. I made our serviette rings and the Mr & Mrs sign for the bridal table. We also made our wooden cake stand. I made a hand painted sign, on a wooden pallet for outside the ceremony about our promise to each other as husband and wife. We bought wire trees next to the road ans they had fairy lights in them. The only items that we hired was Hessian table runners and Hessian chair sashes and wooden slices as under plates.

My Groom And His Groomsmen

The groom wore a navy suit and tan shoes and belt, a gray waistcoat and a navy blue tie and a gray pocket square. The groomsmen wore gray suits and tan shoes and belt.
My husband is a Goldsmith so he made all the belt buckles for himself and the groomsmen that was an anagram of our initials.
We hire the suits from SmartGuy in Centurion.
The groomsmen also all wore sunglasses saying groom or groomsmen or best man as well as underpants saying the same-these were gifts from us to them.

Beautiful Bridesmaids

The bridesmaids wore light and dark gray dresses madr for each bridemaids from a design that they all choose from a image found on Pinterest. The maid of honour wore a dark gray dress also made according to a picture found on Pinterest. They could decide what they wanted to do with their hair and make-up specific to them, as I wanted it to reflect their personalities. They had custom made bracelet that my husband made for them saying bridesmaid or maod of honour.

Marriage Officer

Our priest was Yolande We made and she gave the most amazing sermon.

My Captured Moments

Our photographer Lindie Furstenberg was our photographer and her team took all the photos and video. We had the best photo shoot ever and laughed the whole time. We did the most outrageous things and really pushed the envelope.

The Wedding Planner

No we or rather I planned everything myself and loved every minute of it.

Wedding Transport

From the honeymoon suit to the cliff on which we got married their was a game viewer that transported me and my bridesmaids there.

Food & Cake

The venue provided all the food, from canapes to dessert.
The wedding cake was a gift from my sister but we only had a little cake, but enough to cut. The rest of the cake stand was made up of shots that we drank with all our guests.

Wedding Stationery

We dodnt have printed invitations, we had a website that a family friend helped us design and sent the link to all our guests via whatsapp.
The programmes at the wedding ceremony was designed by me and another family friend printed them for us as a wedding gift

The Reception and Entertainment

We took dance classes for 2 months before the wedding, and worked on a choreographed dance to match the sing we chose to have our first dance to, which was 'Come what May from Moulin rouge.
We had a Dj and it was a wedding gift from my best friends parents. The dj was awesome and everyone danced all night.
