Magical Moments

Our whole wedding was absolutely perfect!! The weather turned out beautifully warm and sunny. The food was amazing. Our bridal party did everything asked, expected and more! The venue, Cranford Country Lodge, was impeccable! All in all it was a day we and our guests will never forget

The Honeymoon

We went on a small "minimoon" to Zinkwazi, North Coast for three days with our fur babies. We are planning to do a few "minimoon's" to make up for a big honeymoon

My Special Day

My look was a bit of a mix. Hair was natural and curly- yes that is my natural hair! Make- up I went quite dark for myself and my ladies, I like the striking look more than the very natural. My dress I bought from VIP brides, it was a second hand dress but I fell in love when I saw it and it was perfect. My shoes my sister picked out for me from Edgars, I admit I did change into flats towards the end of the evening, too much dancing. The jewellery I wore was the same my sister wore on her wedding day. They are crystals from Australia. My garter I got while at the Bridal Expo in Durban. I saw the Cow and just had to have him!

The Venue

The most beautiful and perfect venue!! Everything form the friendly staff to the amazing photo spots were perfect! We stayed over and a few of our guests as well. The breakfast was delicious and the whole experience was a 10 out of 10

My Bridal Beauty Regime

I started dieting and running when we got engaged. I did "fall of the wagon" a few times but I just tried to stay healthy and keep my hair and face in good condition. Before the wedding I had my hair colored and trimmed. I did my own nails, as I am a nail technician. I had a full body spray tan at Sole Spa in Pietermaritzburg- great service and products. In general I just tried to be careful and look after myself

Wedding Elements

I did all the decor myself with some help from my bridal party. I kept it very simple but effective. We both love the earthy colors so we stuck to that and then for a bit of a change we added some grey/ silver. I got most of my ideas off google. The flowers were Gerbera's and are so pretty, with different colored centers. Babies breath is always a winner and is a great filler. We decided not to drape the hall as we wanted to keep the brown look and the stable windows added so much to the feeling.

My Groom And His Groomsmen

The groom wore a dark grey suit hired from Belle and Bravado. We hired his pants, waist coat and jacket. The groomsmen wore grey chino and a white collared shirt.

Beautiful Bridesmaids

My bridesmaids wore brown infinity dress's from Studio 96 in Durban North. My sister the maid of honor wore a two tone infinity dress to make her stand out.

Marriage Officer

Our marriage officer is a family friend who actually married my parents 30 years ago. He did it more as a favour to us but the ceremony was short and to the point. It was perfect

My Captured Moments

Our photographers were Troy and Tarryn from African Bear. They are absolutely amazing! They are a wonderful couple, easy to work with and their pictures are out of this world! They caught everything we wanted and 100 times more. We couldn't have asked for better

The Wedding Planner

We didn't have a planner, but I did get a lot of information and checklists of the internet and then modified them to be my own. I had a large book with all the information I needed and everything went smoothly!

Food & Cake

Cranford did all the catering. The food was delicious! Our cake we had made by a friend and the cupcakes by my mom in law- they both did a sterling job!

Wedding Stationery

I got a few ideas on invites and menu's etc off the internet and then picked two I liked. I then made prototypes of them and chose the best one. It was fun to make all the different things and we had such a great sense of pride when it all came together and worked out

The Reception and Entertainment

The party was one to remember! We didn't take any lessons but they were slow songs that meant a lot to us. Our DJ, DJ Ash from Durban, was incredible. There was not a single time when there weren't people on the dance floor. He played old and new and mixed it up perfectly
