How did your love story begin?

I've known his sister for years, but I never knew she had a brother. One night I joined her at a pub called Ollies. He was celebrating his birthday. When she introduced me he was standing there with a quirky smile and a huge ass Mexican sombrero. It wasn't a dress up party.. needless to say .. i fell in love at first sight !!

Tell us all about the proposal.

He told me he had won a trip to Hluhluwe for 2. We got there it was super romantic and deep in the bushes. Romantic breakfasts and dinners every night, an amazing private game drive in the umfolozi national park and a hike in the wilderness ended off by a romantic cheese and wine picnic. Which is when he pretended to walk up to a little duiker bokkie. He turned around looked at me and made the most beautiful promise to me when he popped the question. I said Yes!

Magical Moments

We got married at Salt Rock Hotel which is right on the beach. My husband is a diver so we had an outside beach wedding. As we drove up on the Friday he made a joke a out a big wave splashing all our guests while we say our I do's.. Murphy's Lawn, while they were waiting for me to walk down the isle a huge wave splashed EVERYONE! The one girls hair went from perect curls to staight in a split second. That was the most memorable moment. Second best was the bonfire and The Kickstands, our band.

The Honeymoon

My husband works offshore and was supposed to go away for work the money after our wedding so we didn't plan a honeymoon for after the wedding. Which is why we decided to do the honeymoon later. My sister in law did organise a friends house in Southbroom for a couple of days as a surprise for us and after the southbroom trip we spent a week in the Drakensberg seeing as his trip to work for postponed for 2 months..

My Special Day

My style was very boho casual. My dress was a high waisted lace and silk chiffon skirt with a see through lace top. I had silver leaf sandals on. My hair was a very dark to very ligt ombre and i wore curls with a braid and a flower crown. My make was airbrushed and smokey. My lingerie had to be fleece coloured and I wore very little jewelry.

The Venue

We got married at the Salt Rock Hotel in Salt Rock on the North Coast. Some of the guests stayed over other drove home.

My Bridal Beauty Regime

I didn't do all of that I honestly didn't have time. I was busy with a bunch of other functions and only had 6 months to plan the wedding. So I ate healthy and did a little bit of exercise.

Wedding Elements

It was magical. We had a huge grass patch bordering the beach. At salt rock the see washed out to the grass when it's high tide. We had cafe lights set up in a criss cross all over the reception area, I had lace throws on the grass with pallets as tables and dusty pink, mint green, dusty blue and cream cushions scattered around to sit on. I only used a lace runner on The pallets with galvanized baths as ice buckets for The champagne. I used cream lanterns on some pallets and and wooden lanterns on others. We built 4 tables out of pallets for The older guests and used antique chairs around those. The flowers we used were all wild flowers. Different pinks and white. My cake table was covered in moss and random sized round wooden cutouts .. I had mini caked covered in fresh flowers.

My Groom And His Groomsmen

The groom just war beige skinny chinos with a white button up and dark brown pointy shoes. We didn't have any groomsman.
