Our special day meant bringing two families together from the South and Western Coasts of the Western Cape to a setting in the heart of the Garden Route, Herolds Bay George.
A wedding is generally accepted to be the most tedious projects to embark on with the wedding day something close to a fairytale and I can assure you mine was every bit of that, truly the best day of our lives!
We never had a theme.. All I know is that I wanted a shade of pink that would bring out both our personalities and some diy decor that explained our love. And to top that a wedding dress that would "skrik vir niks" with the initials of both our names on the back of my dress.
Our special day started out with a cocktail of emotions, smiles, frowns, tears, the works! My husband arrived from Cape Town a day before our BIG day to ensure that all the last touches to a picture perfect wedding were done. One thing I have learnt was that you can never prepare yourself for what is to happen on D day.
Our wedding ceremony took place in the beautiful, historical church, built in the 1800’s, the NG Moeder Gemeente Church in George. My husband ensured that the ceremony started with a laugh as he ran down the aisle to collect his wife to be at the door of the church, on a so called instruction from his best man. Leaving me without that one moment to be stared at by everyone.
After sharing our wedding vows and getting all the formalities out of the way we headed out to our photoshoot. What fun did we have. Having to climb over a fence at one of the farms just to get the perfect pictures.
Our day ended at the beautiful Oubaai Hotel Golf & Spa, where we shared our love with family and friends.
To me this was my picture perfect wedding and knowing I was able to share it with my love, my best friend and soulmate.
