We went for a walk at Montagu Springs. As we reached some height up the mountain, we were standing on the grass outside the Villas, looking down at the beautiful scenery below us. He was so nervous and went down on one knee when I turned around. It was such a happy moment
Seeing my soon-to-be-husband when walking down the aisle with my dad was one of the highlights of my day. Also those few moments after the wedding when you have a few moments alone and realise WE ARE ACTUALLY MARRIED! We feel so blessed that we were able to share our special day with family and friends. The day was so incredible, it truelly had our stamp on it. It spoke of that meant-to-be-love (our theme song) we've shared for 12 years, we will never forget it!!! Our wedding day + honeymoon week = BEST TIME EVER!!! What a great feeling to finally be husband and wife! Now, for our happily ever after...
We decided to do a proper honeymoon later. For now we settled on a little get-away for a week to one of our favourite places, Mossel Bay! We stayed at the Diaz Hotel and it was just fabulous!
I decided to do make-up myself and hair at Illusions. I went to Olivelli Cape Town in search of the perfect dress. I had it printed and was set on finding this Maggie Sottero dress! The one I wanted wasn't available in South Africa, but 'Emma' was pretty close. Ten months later the day was here...I could finally wear my gown!! I was excited but really calm because that's just my nature.
We got dressed at The Robertson Small Hotel where we also spent the night. It was magnificent and breathtaking. Five star splendid service! We got married in a beautiful church in Robertson and held the reception at DuVon.
I took extra good care of my skin and did teeth whitening a month before.
I had the sweetest person helping me with flowers and decor from 'Alsmoi'. She did an outstanding job! We decided on soft colours and lots of flowers. We kept it simple with a few candles and other decor in between. I rented beautiful coloured uplights that set a romantic mood at the venue.
Suits were bought at Truworths and shoes at Aldo.
We decided on crop top dresses and had it made.
