Magical Moments

Wow, where do I begin.

The highlight of my day would be waking up and realising that I am marrying the love of my life and that we would be spending a life together creating more memories.

A memorable moment of the day would be myself and my hubby saying our vows to each other, us exchanging the wedding rings and when we cut the cake we told the mc that we would be staying there at the cake for a while because we wanted to eat more of the cake.

A BIG and MEMORABLE moment of the day was when my hubby said his speech to the guests, he is not one for talking in front of people and is really quite shy, but when he got up their and told everything that he is a difficult person, but somehow I calm him and that I will be a good wife to him, really made me realise in that moment what I truly meant to him.

My Special Day

I wanted a classical, whimsical bridal look.
I have always wanted a sweetheart neck line, a fitted bodice, a flowing skirt and scattered lace. Which is what i got. I literally walked into the bridal shop and told them what I wanted (they only had one dress that fitted my description), I tried on the dress and it fitted absolutely perfect.
My hair I went for a classical half up and down looks. I was the drape style fringe, with the curls coming to side. The hightlights that i had done really complimented the hair style.
For my make up, I had the artist do a smokey eye with nude lips. She also put some eyelashes on which really made my eyes pop. My make up was really amazingly done and would reccommend Demi from Creative Touch by Demi to ANYONE!!!
I opted for a nude coloured wedge shoe. It was a low heel but perfect and comfortable for the day.
For my lingerie, I wore Distractions (Woolworths), they had a bridal collection, it was very sexy.
For my jewellery and accesories, I decided on pewter coloured diamante earrings and necklace, I wore a pearl bracelet.

The Venue

We got married at Mount Usambara in Krugersdorp, its situated on top a mountain, it overlooks the valleys and has beautiful views.

My Groom And His Groomsmen

The groomsmen defintely were coordinated, the wore a light grey suit with a white shirt and a ballet pink tie.
The groomsmen got their suits from Euro Suit.

The GROOM, wow oh wow, he looked amazing, he wore a light grey suit, with a white shirt, a biscotti coloured waistcoat and a biscotti coloured tie. He looked sooo amazing, he really took my breath away.
He also got his suit from Euro Suit, they were really good with their service.

Beautiful Bridesmaids

My bridesmaids wore different styled dresses but had the same colour at least.
I let me keep to my colour scheme of a brighter rustic pink.
My one bridesmaid wore a knee length dress that had lace on the top.
My other bridesmaid wore a infinity dress, which is so versatile.

LOVED it

Marriage Officer

My marriage officer was my priest Fr Tom, it was special to have him conduct the service on the day, as he literally has seen me grow up. He baptised me, admitted me to communion and was part of the service where i got Confirmed.

My Captured Moments

A very young and talented lady Natasha Swanepoel from Magnificent Moments captured our special day. She brought along her boyfriend who helped videograph and take photos on the day.
She really does take attention to detail seriously. She was very fun that day and we felt quite comfortable in front of the camera with her.
Her boyfriend was also so funny, especially when he had to help hold the screen up for reflection shots and he had to stand on rocks to hold the screen up.
Her packages are amazing, I took her best package that she has and it is really amazing as to how much stuff you get for the price you pay. She includes a photobooth is most of her packages, which was a winner for the guests. They had tons of fun with all the signs etc.
I cant wait to see the rest of the photographs.

The Wedding Planner

I did not have a planner to help me that day. I had organised everything from my place in Durban. It was a mission and a half, but it was so so worth it.
The venue had a maitre'd for me on the day, to help usher people in and signal to her waitresses to bring starters etc.

Wedding Transport

My father in law organised a surprise for me that day, he managed to rent a FORD MUSTANG, RED CONVERTIBLE (my dream car).
I still remember, I just finished putting on my dress and as I was coming out of the room to thank my hair lady and make up, I saw the car and I just said thanks bye. Excitement took over and I just wanted to get in the car and go.
My bridemaids and I drove in the Mustang, which was amazing to spend some time with the girls.
The guy driving the Mustang was such a fun guy, when he stopped at the robots, he revved for the bikers next to him. I must say alot of people at the robots took photos of the car that day.

Food & Cake

The food on the wedding was prepared by the venue itself (Mount Usambara, Kurgersdorp), their food was absolutely amazing. I had so many compliments on the food that day and even after the wedding. Their food was out of this world. As a bride you always try to make that the guests are well fed, and well.. their was enough food for seconds and even thirds.

LOVED EVERYTHING - STARTERS , BUFFET MAIN & BUFFET DESSERT

Wedding Stationery

I designed most of stationary, my menus (i found a template on the internet which I could edit accordingly), it took forever to cut out the menus but it was so worth all the effort in the end. My programs, I managed to find a beautiful floral frame which I then added all the wording and details to it. The programs to me were quite fun to design, i.e researching the furthest travelled guest and adding a few fun facts about my now hubby and I.

My wedding invitations and my guest board were designed by the amazing people at Laserlink in Durban. Their service is outstanding and their attention to detail is amazing. They really cater to your needs.

The Reception and Entertainment

My Hubby and I took dance lessons at this amazing dance studio in Durban. The lady really taught us well and she made sure we had every little detail perfected.

For our reception, we hired a dj named Danie Nel from Essential Music, he was really attentive to the specific songs we wanted and really played good dancing music. All the guests danced away the whole night. He is young and talented dj and it showed in the way he used his lightning and all his equipment.
