A very special moment in my life was spending the last few moments with my precious daddy right before he gave me away to the Love of my Life.
I wrote him this letter and watched how the emotions began to flood my daddy's face. This is definitely a moment that will be cherished for the rest of my life:
You may be giving me away today but I will always be your little girl. I loved you yesterday I love you still always have and always will, today a bride tomorrow a wife your little girl for all your life. You are everything a little girl could ask for the woman I am today is because of the unconditional tender love you've shown me every day of my life. Because of your love I have become strong and confident in who I was and what I could do with my talents, my opportunities and my dreams. You have shown me through your own actions that a man can be strong and resilient but have the tenderness of heart to be kind, and gentle to those he loves, for this I am so thankful for it has given me standards from which to build my own relationship. No matter where I go or what I do there will always be a part of you in my heart. No matter how old I am I will always need my Diddle. I love you beyond explanation Thank you for making this dream day possible for all the hard work and sacrifice I don't think that G and I will ever be able to find the words to explain to you exactly how grateful we are and what this means to us.Daddy you are such an incredible man- and you have given me that most amazing Christ filled upbringing that is priceless, you have taught me to be a strong independant woman, you have given me so many opportunities in life to become the best person I can possibly be. I love you Daddy.
Another incredible moment was walking down the aisle my heart thumping so hard i could feel it in my throat, looking left and right, seeing all the people we love so dearly right there with us. Slowly walking to my Hubby to be I was fighting back the tears of joy- only because I wanted a clear view of the man that was soon to be my Husband. When daddy place my hand in Gerhardt's something happened inside- my stomach began to to flick flacks, my mouth went dry and everything inside of me wanted to hold him close- hug and kiss him. The excitement was out of this world.
He locked eyes with me and gave me his warm knee melting smile...and that was a moment that will be burnt into my memory for a life time.
We were blessed with the most incredible honeymoon. A 5 day cruise on magnificent MSC Simphonia from Durban to Pomene Mozambique. We had the most fantastic trip right from the get go.
Not only is the ship absolutely exquisite but they had the most fantastic and entertaining 5 star crew.
We met some new friends who where so delightful and gave us all the tips and tricks to optimize onnour holiday and have the best cruise we could ever dream of. The weather was slightly choppy and it was a but unfortunate that we were unable to disembark in Pomene. This just gave us extra quality time to just love and appreciate each others company.
We had so much fun- the excitement did not stop. we did everything from Shows in the evenings to disco foam parties during the day.
I loved every second!

Lizette Duncan, an amazing designer has created THE dress amongst dresses... a magnificent masterpiece of blush Russian satin hand cut and sewn with individual pieces of lace strategically and beautifully positioned on my dream dress, with a unique, sensational train of blended ivory and blush bon bon.
A classic one of a kind, timeless wedding gown that I was soooo proud to wear.
My wonderful Nana gave me a beautiful piece of Brussels lace, which Lizette hand sewed into a one of a kind garter.
To top it all, My darling lizette provided me with a second lace gown which i was priviledged to wear during the latter part of my reception.
Lizette, you treated me like a princess, from day 1.... an amazing bond has been forged !
Thank you for your patience and top notch treatment - making my vision, and dream an incredible reality... what a beautifully and perfectly made gown ! One of a kind !

Almarie Louw was the master Artist behind my gorgeous up do exactly what I needed to show of the low back line of my dress, Almie also somehow magically did all my bridesmaid's 1920's to the side hair-style. She was wonderful in every aspect...cool calm and collected she did what needed to be done and still partied on with the rest of us. What a brilliant team of wedding fairies I had... I was honestly so blessed and so lucky to hair amazing people helping my dream turn into reality. Our make up was done by the incredible artist Dylan from Artisty by Dylan. His magic skills had us all running to the mirror to see how he had transformed us into 1920 Gatsby girls.
We had the best time getting ready sitting outside under the tress having a swim- drinking champagne and nibbling on yummy snacks throughout the day.
All I can say is magic happened on my wedding day!
How do you describe a wedding that is every womans dream ? Well, both Gerhardt and I have just experienced a fantasy wedding and a wedding of a lifetime at Bellgables. From start to finish our wedding was orchestrated with love, passion and precision .
Our Gatsby themed wedding was totally awesome ! Black, white and silver opulence.
Our outside wedding was located in the stunning gardens of Bellgables country estate, surrounded by wildlife curiously peeking in as we took our vows under a white Bedouin tent. White cafe chairs, and a red carpeted aisle with soft water sounds in the background.
White concrete urns overflowed with greenery, silver ribbons and white gladiolus....
Canapes and drinks were served around the Turkish bath.
Guests were served with ice cold water as they waited for the arrival of the bride.
Errol Gobey met me under the slave bell and handed me over to my father ! A special touch....
Our gourmet dinner was served piping hot, with style by smartly dressed waitrons.
Tables were beautifully adorned with linen embossed napkins and silver and black runners, candelabras and crystal glasses.... creme de la creme and oh so stylish !
Our dinner was gourmet - fillet medallions and vegetables, kingklip steaks, halloumi and bacon starters - a sneak preview of our menu.

Leading up to the wedding I was worried that I wasn't going to fit into my dress as it was being made in Jhb and I live in Cape Town, and after enjoying my food so much I grew "slightly" In between fittings... So I had to make sure I upped the Cardio and made the "fat cry" just a little and cleaned up my eating ALOT. My Bestie Tarryn Bath happens to be an online trainer and coach. She guided me into a healthy eating program. She taught me a little bit about intermittent fasting and she was on my tail making sure that I was working out according to her tailored made programs that she designed for my needs. Flowers in the reception where all done by Harry Hinis from Bellgables he made everything look spectacular and so well suited for the Gatsby theme.
The gorgeous bouquets where made and designed by my dear friend Kathy Raath who just knew exactly how to bring in the simple elegance that I was looking for. Kathy spend hours making the bouquets and posies and I absolutely loved them.
The boys looked so cool-they really went all out with Gatsby hats, bow-ties, charcoal suits black shoes and dark shades... Finishing off there look with a cigar.
My handsome husband was so sexy in his slim fit charcoal suit and a tie that matched my Blush pink dress.
The suits where hired from Mr Suit hire and accessories where made by the all amazing Lizette Duncan from Bridal Alchemy
My bridesmaids are the most beautiful amazing ladies inside and out and they where so awesome enough to agree to dressing up for the Gatsby theme. I must admit this was loads of fun. I was worried about having a themed wedding but honestly it brought a whole new element of fun to the day.
The girls where Gatsby galore and went all out we bought their figure hugging dresses at YDE. Black dangley earrings from Accessories. They each wore a matching headband that we got from Checkers.

My Precious Mommy was the best and ultimate wedding planner.
Some how she planned and organized everything within 3 months. Every detail perfectly thought out. This incredible wonder woman must have had everything maticulously planned since I was 5, because everything came together so beautifully.... All my husband and I had to do was arrive from Cape Town, get dressed, get pampered and get spoilt. How can I ever thank her enough???
My bestie made me the most scuptious 3 tiered cake.
The top and bottom tiers where a decadent double chocoacate sponge, and the middle tier vanilla fudge it was absolutely delicious and we made sure to cut it before the reception so that the guests could enjoy her creation and sip on beverages whilst listening to the awesome singer and song writer Justin Serrao giving the bridal party some time to take pictures.
Once again my magnificent mommy was responsible for ever gorgeous detail. She worked hand in hand with the owners and wedding co-ordinators at Bellgables country restaurant.
We had the "Best Worst DJ's" in the world- Justin Serrao and Rowan Gibb AKA The King pies. What a treat!!! They are so much fun full of energy and came with the most amazing MUSIC, TALENT AND TEASE. Our guests loved every second of their act and loved the variety that they played. They are so cool they even dress up for each occasion. If you want a guaranteed Great time... These are your go to guys!
