Ischke Lochner

Married on Nov 11, 2017 in Eastern Cape

Our wedding was on the 11th of November 2017. We really had the time of our lifes.
The planning and late night decisions was definitely worth it in the end.

My husband is definitely my best friend, my one true love. We've met about 10 years ago and by Gods Will, our paths crossed once again after a long stillness in our friendship. Today we are living our forever and always...

I love him unconditionally and can not wait to be the wife God wanted him to have, now until eternity.

Magical Moments

Apart from planning a whole year long for the “Princess-day” any girl dreams about, both my husband and I had some many highlights.
To choose two of our most unforgettable moments, I would say it was the moment just before the Chapels ‘doors opened. I had this incredible rush feeling, my heart-rate was raising by the second and it literally felt like I am going to faint. My Wedding Dress Designer, Johan Wolmarans, said “Breath In, Breath out” gently rubbing my shoulder and all the emotions was starting to get to me. This was it – I am getting married to the man of my dreams, my best friend, my soulmate.
Our Second highlight of the day was shortly after that – the moment we both walk the isle to the outside of the Chapel as Mr and Mrs Lochner. This meant “forever” to us and this was the one moment we have been waiting for so long.

The Honeymoon

Yes - We had a three-phase Honeymoon in South Africa.

Firstly, we visited our city of love, the beautiful Cape Town.
This is right where our fairy tale began. We re lived our beautiful memories made in Cape Town and travelled the Western Cape from Hout Bay to Camps Bay, all the way to Paarl and of course Stellenbosch where we had an amazing Spa day at Lanzerac Wine Estate.

We came back to our Home Town and spend some view days just relaxing at the Courtyard Hotel. We mostly enjoyed the beachy days and of course the candle light dinners were my favourite.

Thereafter we made a trip to Johannesburg where one of my all-time dreams came true - to attend the Mrs World Event and what an exquisite event. We had the time of our lives in The City of Gold.
We explored the city, had incredible lunches and stayed up counting the stars, talking about our Wedding highlights.

My Special Day

For my wedding look I had something very elegant in mind, yet I wanted to keep it as natural as possible. I wore the dress of my dreams, designed by Johan Wolmarans. I had two dresses, after the first dance I changed to the second dress. I had beautiful bridal white shoes from Shoerama Canal Walk.
My earrings was from Don Marco and my braceleted was a gift from my husband for our one year engagement. I had an up style done by Cut & Dryed Hair Salon. I had a Tiara in my hair for some detail from Bride & Co. I got dressed and had my make up done at the lovely Boardwalk Hotel in Port Elizabeth. My make-up was done by the amazing Theano Zenios. My nails was done the day before the wedding at Biosculpture – I had a beautiful French on my hands and toes.

The Venue

We got married at the lovey La Colline in Port Elizabeth. The Chapel and the Ceremony was at the same Venue. Luckily all our guests were local and our UK friends was staying with us for the time of the wedding.

My Bridal Beauty Regime

I did not go on a strict diet but I tried to drink lots of water and eat healthier portions. If I felt like having some desert, I would have some. I did some home exercises but closer to the wedding I only concentrated on my healthier eating habits.
I have never really believed in a specific Regime, I only have my daily routine of face cleansing.
I went for a pedicure and had my eyebrows shaped and I used AP 24 Whitening Toothpaste for a glowing smile.

Wedding Elements

I absolutely love detail, so for my wedding there was so many detail from the tables to the flowers to the bouquet…
Designer Decor did all my flower arrangements as well as the beautiful fairy lights. I rented Tiffany Chairs from Madiba Bay Events that complimented the rest of the wedding décor.
I had lovely moist chocolate cupcakes with a caramel centre with velvety lilac icing that was made by a friend, Jackie. I had fudge on the tables for each guest made by Elsie from Elsie’s Kitchen in Addo.

My Groom And His Groomsmen

My husband wore a Royal Blue Suit with a lilac tie and he had a personalised tie clip with his name on, that he received as a wedding gift from his parents. The groomsmen were suited in navy blue jackets and beige pants with a navy tie. They were wearing Polo socks and both their shoes and belts was from Woolworths. The suits were bought from Edgars.
They groomed themselves the morning off the wedding to look and feel “wedding-ready”.

Beautiful Bridesmaids

The bridesmaids wore Lilac dresses made by Johan Wolmarans and had silver shoes from Accessorize. The bridesmaids Jewellery was from Lovisa. They had an up style with a plait on the side done by Cut & Dryed Hair Salon. Their make-up was soft but elegant done by Theano Zenios. Their nails was also done at Biosculpture – a milky white colour that we call “Blanc”.
The look I wanted to create for them was to be elegant and classy yet comfortable, as they were also part of my fairy tale day so I really wanted them to also feel like a princess.

Marriage Officer

We chose our long time friend as well as reverend, Ds Johan van Zyl.
He truly spoke from the heart and all our guest complimented him on the speech he gave us.

We also had communion which was also very special for us.

My Captured Moments

Our amazing photos was done by the extraordinary Astrid Cordier and our video was taken by Craig and his wife Susan from My World Creations.

The Wedding Planner

I did have a very special planner for my day – my mom-in-law.
She literally helped me from day one with all the planning from cake tasting to dress fitting to venue bookings. She was my right hand, my guider, my helper and my rock all the way trough and I could not have asked for a better “Wedding-Planner”.

Wedding Transport

The groomsmen and the bridesmaids came with a white BMW M6.
My husband drove himself with a white McLaren and I was driven to the Chapel with a white BMW M3.

Food & Cake

We had a lovely Buffet Dinner which was prepared by La Colline’s chef – Annelie Oosthuizen.
Our Wedding Cake was made by Rebecca from Ginger Pops in Port Elizabeth.
It was a three-layer cake consisting of a top layer chocolate nougat and marshmallow tier. The second tier a Vanilla Lemon Curd Cake and the bottom tier a Greek Chocolate Cake.

Wedding Stationery

I used Carved Unlimited for most of my stationery such as the name tags, thank you gifts tags, wooden quotes and even personalised hangers for the bridesmaids and groomsmen.
Papermaster was responsible for all the printing such as the wedding invitations, thank you stickers, menus and table plan.
I also had small water bottles from Body Fuel Express and personalised chocolates from ECSD Signage given to the guests at the entrance of the Chapel as a small welcome gift.

The Reception and Entertainment

We had a DJ – Ettiene Brown from E.T Disco. The same DJ that made music at my husband’s parents wedding 26 years ago. He was also responsible for the bubble machine, the ice maker machine on the dance floor and the lighting during the night.
After our first dance, which was very intimate and romantic, we started to dance our shoes off.
