We got married in the small town of Kirkwood in the Eastern Cape, well known for their citrus exports. We are from Port Elizabeth, but Kirkwood had sentimental value as my gran was originally from there. The venue was at The Lookout Lodge, which, as the name describes, looks out over the most beautiful citrus valleys!
We always knew we wanted a wedding with a very natural feel and when we visited The Lookout, we knew this was perfect! We had an intimate wedding with only about 65 guests, just close friends and family. It was a very hot December day in Kirkwood, but the views and valleys made up for the heat! By 6h it was a lovely summers evening, romantic in every way, with the sun setting over the valley and the fairly lights coming alive at night.
It was such a happy day, filled with love, you could just feel it in the air! Brendan and I had the best wedding we could ever have hoped for! Laughing and dancing the nights away! All you really need is good food, wine, music and your dearest friends and family, the rest is a bonus! I would do our wedding over again in a heartbeat!
