Pretty Perfect seems fit to describe what was one of the most enchanting days of my life, magical at most.
The way in which our wedding unfolded was beautiful. From early morning jitters and butterflies, a day full of promise lay ahead and the thought of finally becoming one with MY person was almost too much too contain. Thankfully our bridesmaids and groomsmen were always at hand to keep both our emotions in check.
The party arrived at Greenleaves quite early to set up and transform the venue into what would reflect us both. Many family hands, a bridal party and fairy godMoms, in particular, created what looked like a dream: So elegant and fresh, white flowers softened hard corners, hearts in all shapes and sizes dangled from the chapel to the reception and everywhere in between, silver polka dot bunting wrapped along the corrugated veranda and personal touches in strategic places made it our own.
The sun was out in full glory and heaven shined down on this magical place. A horse and carriage escorted me, the blushing bride to the chapel where a nervous father awaited the moment to show off his most cherished God given blessing. The doors opened and tears of happiness, joy and courage began to flow. God was so involved in this day and His presence was felt throughout the proceedings. Just after the much anticipated ‘I Do’s’ the heavens opened up and a torrent of rushing rain washed the land clean, God symbolizing that He has washed us clean and our story starts afresh as a new couple.
The rest of the day was spent making memories which will last a lifetime. Each sweet moment rendered by the tripping of the cameras shutter. Every experience like a breath of fresh air, so good for the soul. The incredible opportunity to have so much love in one place and share it with those closest to us is something which will never be forgotten. Celebrating with family, friends and colleagues continued until the early hours of the morning when it was time to steal away from the crowds and begin our ever after…
