This is not a story where I tell you that I have always been dreaming of my wedding day or that I have had a scrap book album full of magazine cut out white dresses since I was a little girl. In fact I have always been quite avoidant of the word wedding because I was never that normal girl who spent hours building castles in the sky about this day.
Naturally I was in a complete panic the day we decided to start planning our wedding as I had to create a vision of my day, how would I do that!? I gathered my thoughts and my troops in the form of four very feisty bridesmaids and started constructing this overdue dream!
After months of planning and me eventually getting the hang of things we finally tied the knot on the 18 th of April 2014 at The Hertford Hotel in Lanseria.
Our venue was a country house hotel with the most stunning surroundings, breath taking and beautiful.
Our wedding was French vintage themed complete with a pearl brooch bouquet, lots of Chantilly lace, pastel colours and a candy buffet table fabulous enough to help any sugar rush along. Our guests where closest family and friends totalling to +- 80 people who all wore pastel colours in keeping with the theme.
Everything from the décor to the food was spot on but the best of all was, when I looked into this man’s eyes, the man who gave me his heart, the man who makes me feel safe and loved in that I was now Mrs. Brown and I truly had the wedding day of my “belated” dreams!
The Hertford Country House & Function Venue is one of Gauteng’s best-loved wedding venues, offering you the peace and tranquility to enjoy your special day.
