I fell into makeup, well not literally - actually come to think of it, I've done that too. What I meant to say was make up completely took me by surprise on my own wedding day. You can say that it was love at first sight.
I started my working life as a professional dancer and then Executive P.A, you can say that I've always loved everything arty but learnt a lot on how to conduct business from my P.A days. Little did I know what started out as just a hobby in 2005, soon after became my full time career. Fast forward 5 years and I now find myself with a resume that I'm very proud off.
I have approximately 400 weddings to my name as makeup artist, and twice have been nominated by my brides through SABIA (Now known as ABIA) as one of the top bridal make up artists in Gauteng.
My work has been featured in some of South Africa's top magazine's like Cosmo', Savage Magazine, 1st Edition of the S.A Playboy (worked with the International model Maria Eriksson) Get It Magazine Jhb West, Premier, Kuier Keur, Due East. O Magazine, Huisgenoot, You, Good Housekeeping, O Magazine, Idees to name but a few, in total 13 Magazine covers. For TV I've done TV commercials, talk shows etc which can be seen on MNET, Kruiskyk and the Home Channel on DSTV.
I've been privileged enough to have worked with some very prominent designer both International (Eric Way) and local (Gerhard Meiring & David Tlale) and several other smaller design houses in SA like Urban Goddess
I've also had the pleasure of working with several of our local celebrities and socialites (singers and actors), like Shalene Surtie Richards, Natasha Sutherland, Nadia Beukes, Izak Davel, Lynne de Jager (Mrs SA 2011/2012), Carolyn Steyn, Michael de Pina, Stefan Ludick, Emmanuel Castis, Toya de Lacey, Lira, Chantel Gertse to name but a few…
I'm a SETA accredited assessor and facilitator which gives me the opportunity to train very high quality make up artist's and lecturing & assessing students at some of SA top training institutes.
Well enough said, they say a picture speaks a thousand words I would like my work to speak for itself. I hope you enjoy looking at my work as much as I've enjoyed putting it together for you.
