Wedding DIY: Environmentally friendly and recycled confetti

Since ‘going green’ is the new black and couples just love to leave their own mark on their special day by creating things themselves, we have decided on this fun DIY idea, that should not cost you a cent.
This recycled, re-created jar, can be placed on the chair or bench at your ceremony, or given out by your Flowergirl before the confetti shower!
What you will need:
- 1x empty purity (stage 2) jar per guest
- A decorative punch (we used a heart punch).
- Punched shape should be about 15mm x 15mm.
- Some left over ribbon
- Some paper off-cuts in your colour scheme
- Tag with string
- Paint & paintbrush
Step 1:
Remove the label from the empty purity jar by soaking it in warm water.
The rest of the glue can be removed with thinners (turpentine). {Be sure to wear gloves.}
Step 2:
Paint the jar’s lid your preferred colour and let it dry. It might need a second coat.
Step 3:
While waiting for your lid to dry, collect all your ‘left over’ as well as ‘cut-off’ paper and cards. Start punching your shapes to fill at least half the jar.
Step 4:
Throw all your punched paper shapes into the jar, decorate the jar with your ribbon and screw the lid back on.
Step 5:
Write ‘confetti’ on the tag and tie it around the lid of the jar.
There you go – easy, affordable and Green!
Enjoy!
