L’Avenir - Combine the pleasure of wines with the South African way of life:

Recently, I was fortunate enough to visit one of the most magnificent wine lodges known to me and what an experience it was! On entering the L’Avenir premises you are greeted by lush scenery; and the L’Avenir Venue on your left.

While driving past the vineyards on your way to the lodge you are welcomed by road sign messages like, “Stop and have a look – old vineyards growing again” and “Smile, it’s a beautiful day” – what is not to love! Upon arrival I was welcomed by the Reservations Manager, Jean-Mari Strauss who showed me to my room – my jaw dropped, it was amazing! The biggest bed I have ever seen immediately instilled a queen like feel to the room, as well as the exquisite bathroom, with a bath, shower and his and hers wash basins.

The under floor heating in the bathroom is to die for – the perfect comfort for those chilly winter mornings. Opening the door onto the outside patio you are greeted by your own private, heated splash pool and outdoor shower – it creates immediate privacy for yourself and your husband – providing you with everything you need, and more, for your honeymoon night.

My overall experience has been nothing less than exquisite – from the wooden floors in the hall; creating that homey feeling to the lounge area in front of the fireplace and breath taking scenery outside; this lodge is something that leaves you breathless.

I would personally recommend this lodge for your honeymoon, wedding night or just a weekend get-away; it’s in a very romantic setting with vineyards all around. If you look quickly, you’ll think you have been transported to some magical Garden of Eden. It was miraculous!
