Julian and Anri's Engagement at Santé
One of our Colleagues, Julian recently got engaged to his long time girlfriend, Anri and what a splendid day it was! Our dear friends at the Sante Hotel, Resort & Spa took it upon themselves to organize a day Julian nor Anri will ever forget – with the help of the rest of the SA Weddings Team we ensured this was the case!
Not only do they offer an amazing venue, surroundings, food and magnificent treatments but they have impeccable staff!
Thank you very much for making Julian and Anri’s special day just that…Special!
On Tuesday 12 July 2011, I proposed to my girlfriend Anri at the Santé Winelands Hotel and Wellness Centre. The kind people at Santé arranged for lunch followed by a couple’s massage.
Anri arrived at 12:30; under the impression that she’s getting a complimentary treatment that she received from a friend (the receptionist at Santé assisted by sending her an e-mail confirming the booking). She was completely unaware of my involvement – not knowing I took the day off to spend it with her.
Upon arrival, the receptionist guided Anri through the restaurant area. At this point she felt guilty for receiving this kind of special treatment, with no one to share it with. She was taken to a small table next to the tranquil water and stunning scenery, where I was waiting for her.
The look of amazement on her face when she saw me (along with the odd tear or two) was something I’ll never forget. That's when the significance of this day became clear to her.
The waiter brought a bottle of Sparkling Wine on ice and we ordered lunch. While the meal was being prepared, I told her we should take a stroll along the water. I took her to a little bench that had the best view in the area, and I told her to have a seat…
This was obviously the part where I went down on one knee, told her how much I love her, how amazing the past 3 ½ years were and that I want to spend the rest of my life with her – all while holding a little black box in my hand containing the ring.
We returned to the table – now more in love than ever and opened up the sparkling wine when we got there. After the lunch, we went over to the Spa area for our couple’s massage.
It was a magical day that both Anri and I will never forget! Thank you very much Santé for making this day so special.
