Jingle Bells and Wedding Bells
It is the time to be jolly. It’s also the height of the summer holiday season. What better time for a truly memorable wedding celebration? The possibilities for the combination of Santa Claus-style merriment and matrimonial glorification are endless - and endlessly fun. Think of table decorations, for instance. Envision a hop-skotch of blue and red snowflake place card holders and holly-beribboned wedding cake wedges. Think wedding favours. You’ll want to send your guests home with a special double-occasion-in-one token. Consider the applications of a heart-shaped snowflake design - picture the pattern on a coaster, a tape measure, or even an apron. For the guys, how about a boxed trio of red golf balls for immediate use in the holidays?
Let’s extend the twin-themed idea to the wedding cake. Start by “gift-wrapping” each tier in a different colour so that the cake resembles a pile of gifts. Or, if you want to go completely radical, request a Christmas themed cake shape: a jagged-edged pine tree or the face of the legendary Rudolph ought to get your message across! Then there are the cake ornaments to consider. The couple cake topper could be Santa and Mrs Claus. Or an ice prince and princess. Or a pair of polar bears, penguins or squirrels. A mix of pine cones, berries and holly can be trusted to finish off the rest.
There is no floral symbol of Christmas, but flower decorations could mix brightly coloured tropical varieties that compliment the holiday and seasonal themes of the occasion. Whatever colours you choose could be matched to a string of decorative Christmas lights, while the church and wedding hall could feature pillar-shaped candles with ivy and berry finishes.
When it comes to wedding invitations, be sure to design them in such a way that they are not confused with regular season’s greetings messages. A holiday-themed border with the names of the bride and groom should make the envelope sufficiently distinguishable. The card itself could extend the colourful border frame and give it a Christmas theme. Use engraved snowflakes, holly trim or bells.
And then there is the climax of it all - the Christmas wedding dress. The festive mood of the occasion should find expression in the dress. Bearing in mind that the spirit of Christmas is reflected by red and green, think beads, sequins and golden embroidery. If you favour the traditional white dress, consider a red sash around the waist.
And, for the opening of wedding presents, what better delivery man than Santa Claus himself?
