The magic happened on the 16th of March 2011 – our two year anniversary...

I was woken up at 4am that morning with a kiss and a cup of coffee and told that we were going on a little adventure; I have to pack an overnight bag and am not allowed to ask any questions.

Eddie and Claudia

Eduard and Claudia

My Boyfriend, Eduard, and I moved to Pretoria 3 months prior to the December Holidays, so we decided to drive down to Cape Town and spend the festive season with our friends and family.

While we were shopping he suggested we buy each other a small gift, worth no more than R50, that represent our love for each other.

Ryan and Kate

We live in CPT and had flown to Durban to surprise my boyfriend Ryan’s family. We were supposed to be meeting some friends Adrian and Clare at this hotel up the cost for dinner as “Adrian was working that way”!!

We jumped in the car and took a drive about 45mins to an hour out of Durban up the North coast to a gorgeous place called Salt Rock.

Mike and Kerry

On a normal Wednesday night we went out for dinner at our favorite local restaurant and had our usual meals.

We were leaving for Thailand in a couple of days and Mike started to talk to me on a more serious note near the end of our dinner saying things like "You shouldn't expect anything when we are away, I know people have been saying things to you but I just don't want you to get disappointed, so I'm telling you now."

Sandresan and Liliana

On the 24th of May this year I was sent to the shops with a list, from my then boyfriend (and now fiancé). I got clear instructions to be out for at least one hour, which I found very suspicious.

So when I returned I found that there was no one at home, I phoned him to hear where he was. He then told me to look in my cubby, where I’ll find two envelopes.

Mike and Lida

Mike and I moved to Port Elizabeth, from Cape Town, the end of 2009 and decided to move in together. I woke up late one Saturday morning, as I love sleeping in.

I wasn’t surprised that Mike was not there as he always goes running early in the morning. I got up and almost fell over a bar chair standing in the middle of the doorway. There was a letter on the chair; it stated “LiedsTe Liedster”.

Byron and Samantha

On Friday, 26 November 2010, I went to work like usual - I work with my mom and she told me that a friend had sent her a link to a YouTube video - she insisted I watch it as apparently it was very funny.

I began downloading it but got sidetracked by the accounts department and my boss.

Sandresan and Liliana

William and Simone

The Christmas of 2010 was the first one we spend apart in 6 years as we decided to spend it with our families and I was set to fly down on the 26th to be with my long time love William.

As he picked me up at the airport he said that tonight we are going on a date since we have been apart and I should wear something nice.

Sandresan and Liliana

Gareth and Daphne

Wow! Where do I begin...I always thought my Fiancé would propose in a big way – but I was still shocked when it all happened! And it was absolutely perfect…

For all the years we have been together, we have always loved Crowded House (the band). When he heard that they were touring SA in 2010, he bought golden circle tickets for us.
