Nicolette, Founder and Owner of Weddings by Nicolette is a Vivacious Make-up and Hair Stylist with a heart of Gold! She became a new mommy almost 8 months ago and although her baby keeps her busy she has not stopped doing what she loves most (besides her husband and little boy of course) – Weddings!

It is incredibly simple - I love make-up, hair and weddings, so I am now working in my ideal environment, doing make-up and hair for brides, sharing in their special day. What do you have to offer brides-to-be out there? I am a professional artist and use only professional products. This means that I know how to apply the make-up to enhance your best features, rather than having the make-up be the focus. The colours are also specifically chosen to suit your skin tone and enhance your natural colour. Hairstyles are also created to suit your face shape, as well as your wedding dress and theme. What do you reckon is the one thing that makes your establishment so successful? I treat each wedding with the same attention to detail as I did my own! I even arrange the 'schedule of the day' for the bride and the bridal party, so that everyone knows when to arrive for make-up and hair, ensuring the day runs smoothly and (most importantly) stress-free for the bride! I make certain everyone is ready for photos (and the church!), on time. Regarding Consultations – what do you offer in terms of this? I offer a hair and make-up trial session for the bride; here we discuss her likes and dislikes, wedding theme, dress style and inspiration. It is an interactive time for the bride to convey what she envisages looking like on her wedding day and then we adapt that look to create a version to suit her perfectly. It is wonderful to meet the bride before the big day, that way I also get to know her on a personal basis - making it more relaxed on the wedding day itself, with her being surrounded by people she knows and feels comfortable with, as the wedding day can be a nerve-wrecking time for any bride! Having had a trial also means that on the wedding day, the bride can just sit back and relax while I recreate her 'bridal look', as she already knows exactly how her make-up and hair is going to look. Are you currently taking on any exciting ventures? I was recently honoured to have my work featured in the Wedding Inspirations magazine (Sept issue p 82 - 89 Spring Brights feature). I collaborated with the wonderful wedding co-ordinators Wedding Concepts and the feature was spot on for upcoming colour trends in both the wedding and decor industry! Are you currently taking on any exciting ventures? I like to keep everything personal and professional. It is wonderful for me to get to know the brides, as I am blessed to receive future bookings based on referrals from past brides. This is such a wonderful sense of recognition for my work. Seeing a bride glowing and feeling like the most beautiful woman in the world on her wedding day is exactly why I do what I do!! I get great enjoyment when a bride has her make-up and hair done and puts on the wedding dress - it is almost 'contagious' - a wonderful joy and excitement shared by everyone in the room!
