What is your Company about?

Protea Hotel Stellenbosch is the largest hotel and conference centre in the Stellenbosch area. We are a very diverse company and cater for a wide market. We are situated within the Techno Park Business complex only 6 km outside of Stellenbosch central. This makes the hotel a tranquil place to be at with breathtaking views overlooking mountains and winelands. Our diverse guests include business professionals, international tourists, corporate conference groups and families on vacations.

What do you have to offer brides-to-be out there?

Our wedding package includes a Complimentary Superior room with breakfast served to the bridal couple. As a Bridal Couple, you will have a choice of either a 3 course set menu or a wedding buffet including various extras*. You will receive a PA system to be used either at the ceremony or at the wedding reception – the dance floor is included in the Venue Hire. And where better to get married than in the Winelands, with back-dropping mountain views.

What do you think is the one thing that makes your establishment so successful?

Undoubtedly our hotel STAFF! They are dedicated, courteous and they make Protea Hotel Stellenbosch the successful company it is. Without them, the hotel would just be a building. Our location is also very popular and has one of the best views in Stellenbosch.

Regarding Consultations – what do you offer in terms of this?

Our wedding coordinator will set up a meeting with the bridal couple and discuss their initial reception requirements. We are able to provide you with a list of preferred service Providers whom you know you can count on and trust. We’re essentially the “unofficial Made of Honor” who will be there every step of the way!

Are you currently taking on any exciting ventures?

We just completed the construction of our two new conference venues - this project, which started in July 2010, was completed in February 2011. Alterations to the existing conference centre includes a new double storey conference building, new ablution facilities and lobby with a total construction area of 648m².

The project also included the upgrading of the audio visual equipment in the existing conference venues. Omega, one of the newest additions, boasts a magnificent view of the Helderberg Mountains and is perfectly suited for wedding receptions.
